Son Cats are a psychedelic blues-rock duo, from Portland and Hartford, who fall within the confines of a stereotypical garage rock band.

Their debut seven-inch could quite easily be interpreted as a double A-side, as both tracks are likely to receive the same amount of airplay.

‘O’Dell’ and ‘1971’ sees vocalist Alex Reed Wilson, howling over dirty and distorted electric guitar splashes - that are cranked to maximum amplification, while Jasmine Dreame Wagner adds the thrashing and crashing.

The Cats don’t innovate garage rock on this release, they embody it.
