Mexican Slang – Demon [EP]

On first listen, Mexican Slang is another straight-out-of-college four-piece, who are sat in their parent’s basement, bleeding the hell of out their second hand amps, in a bid to find crunching riffs that are catchy, original and memorable.

The truth, however, is that Mexican Slang is the alias of a self-proclaimed “blonde weirdo” who “attempts tone-deaf yelling and bangs on buckets” in her own, sweaty apartment. Christened Demon, this six-track debut is incredibly raw; drenched in feedback and thick layers of scuzz, you’ll do well to make out Anna Timoshenko’s teen melodrama quips – although this seems to be the point: a poignant and personal release.
